Failed firmware upgrade on Cisco 677, what to do?

Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes :-)

I have tried to upgrade the firmware of a Cisco 677 using tftp and management cable, but after several failed tries I cannot even get into rommon mode using the management cable and hyperterminal (tried multiple computers).

Tried all sorts of guides. Even tried the "erase sector" commands in rommon mode, but now I can't even get a prompt. Tried all possible baud-rates but no reaction at any speed in terminal program.

Is there any way to a hardware reset somehow?

Is it actually possible to destroy even the rommon mode prompt due to failed firmware upgrade?

What are my options?

I am completely lost now, please help...

/Ronnie

BTW, notices an earlier conversation "Problems with Resetting 675 in ROMMON".

Just wondering if replacement is the only way?
