GPS problems on EHWIC-4G-LTE-GB

Level 1

Hi, I have a 1921 and 1941 and am using EHWIC-4G-LTE-GB for LTE/3G.

I would like to get the GPS working but it only works very intermittently...

controller Cellular 0/1
lte sim data-profile 2 attach-profile 2
lte gps mode standalone
lte gps nmea
lte modem link-recovery rssi onset-threshold -110
lte modem link-recovery monitor-timer 20
lte modem link-recovery wait-timer 10
lte modem link-recovery debounce-count 6

I have done lte gps enable and the relevant output for sh cell 0/1/0 gps detail is:

GPS Info
-------------
GPS Feature: enabled
GPS Port Selected: Dedicated GPS port
GPS Status: GPS acquiring
GPS auto tracking status: active
GPS auto tracking config: enabled
GPS Mode Configured: standalone
Latitude: 0 Deg 0 Min 0 Sec North
Longitude: 0 Deg 0 Min 0 Sec East
Timestamp (GMT): Sun Jan 6 00:00:00 1980

Fix type index: 0
HDOP: , GPS Mode Used: not configured/unknown

Satellite Info
----------------

I have used an active (amplified) antenna and also a passive antenna but 95% of the time no fix is obtained and no satellites acquired.

---------------------------

What is particularly puzzling is that a couple of days ago, a fix was acquired and about 9 satellites detected!

Since then I have not changed anything but no fix has been obtained.

Weather has not been significantly different either.

I've setup GPS successfully on an Cisco C887VAG-4G-GA-K9 , which is essentially an EHWIC-4G in a box.

I have ALSO tried 3 different IOS versions - a T release and M releases. Quite recent ones - 15.6 15.7 and 15.8.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Cheers, Bill

PS ok, well, I have again rebooted again and of course, the GPS is working!

And it is heavy rain and overcast - worse weather than when I have previously tried, so that is not the solution.

Output of GPS now is:

sh cell 0/1/0 gps

I will still make this post in case anyone has any pointers to the GPS feature being flakey!

Cheers again!
