Can a POS STM4c / OC-12c card be provisioned in a Core GSR 12000 router as 4 separate and individual STM1's / oc-3c or are they only configurable as

VC4-4c ?

The data sheets atleast don't seem to indicate that this is possible :

yes you are right. I found that its not possible .

It is possible but not back to back. put them across a Sonet ring with a multiplexer, and there you could use the equivelant of an OC3 to serve 4 sites.
