Hello
Can someone explain me how to lead comprehensive technical documentation of network where all credentials (login&password)/explanations/parameters are included and how to make it 'easy to understand' even for a newly employed network engineer of company???
Documentation of network and server looks like a difficult task to accomplish.
My question: How to realize it and what program (by this I mean applications like Visio, ... or other programs) to use ?
How to specify and make all this convenient for understanding in the technical document of the network:
• compliance with the connection of patch panel ports to network equipment ports;
• connection description on user switches;
• a description of the routing between network equipment;
• table of ip addresses used by workstations;
• graphic network diagram.
• hardware;
• installed software;
• services provided;
• network connections.

Thank you, Mark
What application/program do you use to draw a network topology and to make a technical documentation?
What do you think about open-AudIT application?
