Sharon,
If you are looking for inline sniffing, you will have to insert a hardware sniffer such as Agilent Advisor. This box has multiple interface (LAN and WAN). So you can insert the box inline between the two routers and then use the protocol analyzer software from Agilent to sniff the E1 frames. I am not aware of another product which does this at this time..

Hi shanky
>>> you will have to insert a hardware sniffer
For hardware sniffer I guess I will have to physically remove a connection
This option is out of the question, because the E1 is connecting 2 bulky networks!
Must be other way , SNMP ? packet mirroring ? thru the COM port ?
Thank you !

Since the equipment is a router, it does not have the capability to SPAN (mirror) the traffic to a destination. This would be possible in a switch. I am not aware of any other method to do this, at this time. Unless some body else have a different suggestion to make!
