Hi,
When I try to traceroute an IP address from the Router , it goes until 30 hops and stops . How to stop this process in between in the Router ?. Sometimes , it's time consuming process to wait until 30 hops even the first hop itself timedout (*******) and I had to wait to traceroute other IP until it finishes 30 hops . I once used combination of keys to stop this (control, shift and F6 ) and now I fogot the combination.
Thanx

Raju,
it's ctrl-shift and 6 (not F6). One other thing is to use no ip domain-lookup in the config so the trace will speed up because it doesn't do a DNS broadcast for each hop.

Consult the table for your particular operating system. Keep in mind that some versions of hyperterminal, the break sequence does not work.

I found CNTL+SHIFT+6 always works immediately BUT
I must use the 6 key across top of keyboard, NOT the keypad 6.

The shift key makes the character the carat (^), so its really a CTRL-^ for the break.
