Does anyone know why when I disable "ip proxy arp" on my interfaces that have HSRP configured on them it, the network goes insane. Does HSRP need to have "ip proxy arp" enabled?

of course not........... I can bet on it........ try chking the HSRP holdtime timer in configured routers...........

What do you mean by "goes crazy?" You might have a bunch of hosts which are relying on proxy arp reply information to get places, or something like that. Its hard to say with this amount of information.
