hsrp over atm

Is it possible to configure hsrp on the 2 routers thru atm interface. I mean will it work with the current network setup that we have, will it work when I configure hsrp on the two routers. Thanks for the help. we are connecting the router to the mgx via atm interface.

I am no expert in ATM, but I don't think it would work. HSRP "designed for use over multi-access, multicast or broadcast capable LANs (e.g., Ethernet)." http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2281.txt.

I think you would be better off running a routing protocol to provide redundancy on your links. This would allow you to do load-balancing as well.
