Hi all. I have a 3745 that I picked up and I got new memory and flash card for it. When I boot up, it has very few commands. I want to put the new IOS on it, how do I do it? There is no TFTP command. The only commands I see are:
rommon 6 > ?
alias set and display aliases command
boot boot up an external process
break set/show/clear the breakpoint
confreg configuration register utility
cont continue executing a downloaded image
context display the context of a loaded image
cookie display contents of motherboard cookie PROM in hex
dev list the device table
dir list files in file system
dis disassemble instruction stream
dnld serial download a program module
frame print out a selected stack frame
help monitor builtin command help
history monitor command history
iomemdef set IO mem to a default 25%
meminfo main memory information
repeat repeat a monitor command
reset system reset
rommon-pref Select ROMMON
set display the monitor variables
showmon display currently selected ROM monitor
stack produce a stack trace
sync write monitor environment to NVRAM
sysret print out info from last system return
unalias unset an alias
unset unset a monitor variable
xmodem dnld x/ymodem image download
I am connected to it via the console cable on COM3 using PUTTY.
How can I download the bin file to the unit over the serial connection?
I have this image:
c3745-adventerprisek9-mz.124-25d.bin
Thanks!

I figured an easy way to do. I found an old hyperterminal I was able to download. I just used it to connect and used xmodem dnld command to transfer it over the console cable.
Sure, it looks like it is going to take around 13 hours at 9600 baud, but it's better than nothing

Actually found how to increase the terminal speed, now it's only 2 hours!

Hi Mike,
Hmmmm ... 3745 right?
I got a simple solution for you but you need to pop the lid of the 3745. Are you game?
The 3745 has a CF flash INSIDE. Pop the lid and take the CF flash out. Load the IOS into the flash using a multi-card reader and you should be good. Alternatively, you can boot an IOS using the OUTSIDE using the command "boot disk0:IOS.bin" from ROMmon.
