interconnecting catalyst 4003 with GBIC modules

Is it possible to interconnect a catalyst 4003 with a 3com swith by using the 2 external GBIC ports (layer 3 module) ?

Can someone give me a sample example of how to use these two ports for external connection ?

Yes you can.

In the configuration those two ports are gig1 and gig2 and they are "routed" ports.
