I'm trying establish connectivity betwenn cisco 6506 (working core switch) and Foundry NetIron Switch by configuring 802.1Q trunk. I configured bith of them with trunk and tag configuration but it is not working.
Basic connectivity without trunking is established between them.
Please advise

When you say it is not working what do you mean? are none of the VLANs passing traffic or just the Native VLAN? Here are some items to check.
1. If Gig Ethernet, make sure both sides have auto-negotiation enabled
2. Verify Native VLAN is not tagged on both sides
3. Check Spanning-tree on Native VLAN (other VLANs are not important since Nortel switches do not run PVST+)

I have some points
1- None of the VLAN is passing traffic
2-Ports are fast ethernet.
3- Native VLAN is not tagged
4- The other siwtch is Foundry (not Nortel)

Is trunking set for nonegotiate? You may want to try that and span the trunk port and take a sniffer trace.
What does STP for the interface indicate: blocking or forwarding or inconsistant.

It worked when I did the trunking as nonegotiate. Before I was putting it as ON
Thanks
