Is anyone aware of intermittent problems with IPX where Windows clients seem to lose connectivity to the Novell world. I have a CAT 6006 MSM which is directly connected to a CAT 4004 with no truncking.

Every thing seems to be fine when suddenly Windows clients lose connectivity to the Novell world when they logout and login again. Clients who are already logged in have no problems.

Sounds very much like a PORTFAST issue. When connecting workstations to a Cisco switch make sure you enable portfast when they use Novell for else the GNS (get nearest server) packet will not be forwarded during the boot sequence, which causes the client not being loaded. Hence no connection.
