Hello,

I want to get ISL trunking between a 1912-A and 3524-PWR-XL. Both switches have VLAN 1, 10 and 20. The DMZ is VLAN 10. My goal is to assign a public IP to a PC, place the port on the 3524 into VLAN 10 and have access to the internet.

- Both switches are using enterprise software.

- 3524 is vtp server

- 1912 is vtp client

Hello,

What debugs should I use to narrow down this problem?

What outputs should I expect to see?

Any other configs I should check?

Thank you.

Any suggestions or configuration I should check?

I know it has to be ISL because one of the switches is an 1900 series.

Few things you could check are:

Interface statistics, are there any errors.

Mac-Address tables on both devices.

Are the 1900 learning the mac-address of the DMZ

and the PC both in vlan 10 or not.

Also try placing an additional pc in vlan 10 on the 1900 and on the 3500 to verify if communication

inside the vlan works ok or not.
