link down.. sandstorm?

In a bit of a crisis...

This connection is a Satellite shot and I have a Protocol Down...

Would the high amount of CRC errors be related to a sandstorm that is going on right now?

Talking to the signal guys and they say it's "clear"...

Any point in the right direction?

I am not sure what kind of interface you have for the satellite connection, but if you can set the line to loopback mode, you may be able to use the following steps to determine if there is something wrong with ur equipment..

I guess a more direct question would be:

Doesn't CRC errors usually mean a Layer1 issue? A connectivity problem?

Or a clocking/bandwidth issue?
