Maximum number of ECMP sets supported by Cisco Router

I'm wondering how many ECMP sets are supported in a Cisco Router. I'm not talking about the max. number of next hops per route, but asking regarding how many different sets of nexthops, except for single next hop, are supported per router. In addition, is there any criteria on reasonable number of max. ECMP sets, considering real network and deployment scenario? To my knowledge, some router vendors support tens of ECMP sets, while others supporting hundreds of ECMP sets. However, that kind of item is not included in most of the formal product specs.

Any answer or referring to any link regarding this issues will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

I did a search on CCO and found information related to ECMP only in the context of the CSS, I am not sure if Cisco routers support ECMP at all. Here is what I found:

Configuring IP Equal-Cost Multipath

Use the ip ecmp command to set the equal-cost multipath (ECMP) selection algorithm and the preferred reverse egress path. The CSS supports a maximum of 15 ECMP paths.

Here is the link to that information:
