My customer has a network of BPX and MGX switches using the MGX8850 with VISM in AAL2 trunking mode for transport of GSM voice traffic in a mobile voice network. Normal vice calls are working fine and the quality is good, however on voice mail retreval at certain remote sites we are experiencing clipping. This is especially evident if the speech is very soft. It seems like VAD is interpretting it as silence. We have changed the music on hold threshold to 50 and the jitter delay to 20ms fixed, which helps a little but does not eliminate the problem. Is here anything else we should be looking at.
