Hi,

In our core switches "Catalyst 6509" running in Hybrid mode CatOS 7.6.6 and IOS 12.1(20)E3, when issue this command "sh mls multicast" we get different answer in both switches:

Switch1> (enable) sh mls multicast

Admin Status : Enabled

Operational Status : Active

Total Entries : 0

MSFC (Module 15):

IP Address : 10.205.8.1

Complete Flows : 0

Partial Flows : 0

Switch2> (enable) sh mls multicast

Admin Status : Disabled

Operational Status : Inactive

Total Entries : 0

MSFC (Module 15):

IP Address : 0.0.0.0

Complete Flows : 0

Partial Flows : 0

I taught that mls is enable by default on switch.

Question:

=======

1) How can I enable the mls on the switch2 "can not find a command to do so.

2) When we enabled ip multicast routing on the switch1 and switch2, we had problem with switch2. I think because of the MLS.

Thaks

You can enable MLS in global configuration mode

For Example :

1) Router(config)# mls rp ip

Enable MLS on the interface so that it can participate in the shortcut process.

1) Router(config-if)# mls rp ip
