Somewhere i have heard that it is possible to read the netflow information from a router or a switch with mrtg.
Does somebody know something about it and could give me the pearl-scripts or any idea about a good software to do this (not so expensive).

What types of routers and switches are you monitoring? And what specifically are you trying to measure/metric? The OID's will be different depending on various platforms, targets, etc.

try to look at www.caida.org
and tool called cflowd
it is something for NetFlow but w/o GUI frontend
and have some problems on CPU with long words (64bit and more)
but it is great tool for micro-scale usage
