Does medianet work on nexus? Whats the roadmap.

Hi David,
As of today the Nexus platform does not provide the medianet capabilities. There is intent to bring these features to Nexus but no specific timeframes yet that can be shared in this public forum.

What if the customer currently has nexus in the flow? Does that break the medianet functionality..

Hi David,
Intermediate nodes in a path that don't support or enable medianet features do not pose issues.
Obviously, the non capable node will not be able to gather and report the enhanced data for RTP or TCP flows provided by the performance monitor feature.
The mediatrace feature is not affected since a mediatrace is performed by sending an ip packet end to end along the path. This packet will pass transparent through network nodes that don't enable medianet.
Similarly for the IPSLA-VO feature traffic only two nodes are necessary to have medianet enabled for traffic generation. The originator and the terminator of the traffic. For intermediate network nodes, the traffic appears to be RTP streams and can pass through a node with medianet not enabled.
