Hi everyone,
Recently had an issue where an interface on our ISR4221/K9, running version IOS XE Software, Version 17.03.04a, went down for a small amount of time causing an outage. The logs showed:
07:56:38.088 JST: %IOMD-3-MODULE_MESSAGE: R0/0: iomd: NIM-1GE-CU-SFP[0/1] NGIO control packet loss detected: module reloading
07:56:38.088 JST: %IOMD-3-MODULE_MESSAGE: SIP0: iomd: NIM-1GE-CU-SFP[0/1] NGIO control packet loss detected: module reloading
07:56:38.088 JST: %IOMD-3-MODULE_MESSAGE: F0: iomd: NIM-1GE-CU-SFP[0/1] NGIO control packet loss detected: module reloading
07:56:44.125 JST: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0, changed state to down
07:56:44.132 JST: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0/1, changed state to down
I am wondering if anyone has any information on what the cause of this could be? Specifically wondering what the possible causes of "NGIO control packet loss detected: module reloading" are?
Thanks.

Hello,
there are a few bugs such as the one below, although your NIM-1GE-CU-SFP is not specifically mentioned.
In addition, I was curious to find out what NGIO actually means. I found the linked article, which is an interesting read. NGIO as far as I can tell stands for NEXT Generation I/O, which is a standard that was supposed to replace the 'old' PCI bus.
