We have an issue with a 2948G which is running CatOS6.3(10) but connected via short haul fibre gbic to a 4003 running version CatOS 5.1(1a). The 2948G has been installed a couple of weeks and loses connection to the 4003 every couple of days, since it was installed. The 2948G switch has been rebooted whenever the problem occurs. The 4003 switch has been installed since last year with no problems, Only the 2948G has been introduced.
The Fibre connection between the two switches has been replaced by a UTP connection instead. Currently we are finding out whether this has made any difference and stoppped the initial connection loss.
What I have noticed on the 4003 switch is the following error over and over again which doesn't seem to be documented in the TAC. An example is below and was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what this message means.
