the OSPF is a link-state protocol: then OSPF is based on LSAs (link-State Advertisements), i.d. description of the links connected to every router in the same area or the routes coming from other areas or other routing domains.
WThe point is that the exchange of the link-state information is performed in the Multiaccess networks (Ethernet, Frame-relay...) in a different way from the Point-to-point links.
There is just th establishment of neighbor relationships between the DR (Designated Router) and all the other routers in the same Multiaccess segment (DROthers).
This means that the exchange of the link-state is performed just through these neighbor relationships. BUT this also means that this exchange of link-state info is performed in this way JUST OVER THESE MULTIACCESS LINKS.
Of course, if a router has more than one interface (and this is likely to happen for a router....), this router can get some link-state info (not "all its routes") from its DR on a Multiaccess network (if the DR is not itself..) and some other link-state info from other links from other peers (DRs for Multiaccess or peers for point-to-point).
