I have two 2500 routers connected via crossover serial and have been unable to successfully configure RIP or OSPF.
In both cases, one router receives the routing tables correctly, but the other does not.
One difference I have noted is that show ip protocol returns different results.
The router that is successfully receiving the updates returns:
outgoing (and incoming) update filter list is not set
The router that is not receiving updates returns:
outgoing (and incoming) update filter list is
It just "is" nothing more, and this seems typical.
Interestingly, EIGRP worked OK.
Any insights appreciated.
