Hi all
I tried to recover the password from a 2600 serie router. In rommon 1, I accidentally typed 0x2124 instead of
0x2142, after I typed reset to accept the
change, the router loading but it never bring me to user and previlege mode that allow me to change the password. any one know how to reset the router back to
default setting? Thank in advance for any help!!!

HI Gary,
Can you try to take in rommon again and then change the value to 0x2142 and then reset it to boot skipping the nvram and then try changing the password.
because when you change the value to 2124 it will NETBOOT but will never skip the nvram config so it will always promt you for passwrds but if you have valur set to 2142 it will skip the nvram config which means it will never ask for password so that time you can change it.

Hi Ankur
I tried to boot to Rommon 1 all I could see on the screen were these: "JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ" characters and it stoped in that stage for ever.
I tried to boot from startup configuration and all I
could see were these:"###########################".

Gary,
The 2124 register setting says to Netboot, but also changes the console speed to 19200. Change your program port setting to 19200 8-N-1, versus 9600 8-N-1.
Here's a link to the document that tells you all about these settings.

Hi Jim,
Thank very much for your reply, I will try to change
the console speed to see if it works. For some reason
when I tried to go the link you provided, I got an error display page. Would you be able to send me the document by email?
