ping problem

I am using 7505. Users behind fastethernet interface can not ping outside though they can do other things e.g. trace, http etc. It is important that nothing is stopped by access-list.

As http traffic is OK, I don't think it is routing problem. Addionally trace is OK, I again I think icmp is also permitted. I don't understand that this limitations comes only when ping is used. Moreover ping problem is limited to fastethernet only and not for the users who are behind serial interface.

To make fastethernet LAN, switch 2924 is being used.

Hi

Please do also add on the IOS version that is currently running on the 7000 router and that could also prob be a cause for the problem.

Thanks

When you say they cannot ping outside do you mean the internet? Most sites on the internet block pings. Firewall on your side or remotes could be stopping them. Also, you may have nat configured to the internet with an access list that does not include pings.

I am saying about those site which can be ping-ed from router.
