Port security on Catalyst 4006 and vmware

Whenever one of my users start vmware on their workstationt that has port security configured, the port shutsdown. The configuration looks as follows

set port security 3/2 enable age 0 maximum 5 shutdown 0 unicast-flood enable violation restrict

I have set shutdown to 0 as I do not want the port to shutdown, but work in a restricted mode.

If there a workaround for this ?

Have you tried clearing the port security, and readding it without specifying the shutdown timer?

I'm curious what happens if you only specify the violation action.
