Question regarding Vlans and VPN

Hi All,

I wonder if someone could help me with a problem I have.

My Setup is this.

1 Netscreen Fire Wall

1 Main File Server

2 CallManager Servers running CallManager 3.3.3

3 24-10/100 inline power + 2 GBIC ports Switches

My Problem is that at the moment my Main File server does the linking between VLANS. We do not currently have a Layer3 switch.

I am trying to get A Softphone to work over the General Internet using a VPN connection into the office. I can get onto the Main Server (Which does the routing between VLANS) but I am unable to see the CallManager Servers. I have set up the Softphone so it uses the GEPIP.asp from the Server but obviously this is no good if the VPN client cannot see the CallManager Servers. Can anybody point me in right direction or will I definitely need the Layer3 switch?

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers

Dave :)

I believe that you require L-3 Switch. And it depends on your firewall configuration also. Either TX or RX traffic to/from Callmanager may be blocked.
