Questions about VLAN

Hi,

I have two questions about VLANs

1. How will two devices connected to each other know if the other one is VLAN aware?

2. What is the difference between Implicity and explicitly tagged frames?

ad 1) Could you specify more details? Which devices?

Cisco switches can detect unexpected tagged frames or use DTP and VTP protocols, e.g.

ad 2) I've never seen implicit tagging.
