"Far End Block Errors Detected"

I have installed a channelised E1 card in a 3640 router. I have connected the interface to the service provider equipment. The framing has been configured for no-crc4 framing. When I perform a 'show controller e1', a message is displayed 'Far End Block Errors Detected' & 'No alarms Detected'.

Is this normal in an installation where the channelised E1 has been configured for 'no-crc4 framing' ?

Hi,

it seems that the other site is still doing the CRC-4 check and send back the

information about the result. Because your router didn't perform a CRC-check

and transmit the results in the E1-Frame this behavior is explanable.

Normally both sites should be set to the same framing mode. So the question is "what is the mode on the other end?"

Hope this helps
