Reloading a Cisco 2620

Hello,

I have a Cisco 2620 that we are trying to get running. After attempting to reset the password, the router is acting funny and not accepting a lot of the normal commands.

How do I go about just reinstalling everything as if it were brand new? I have the console cable and can access the router through the console.

Thank you.

Can you be a bit more specific regarding "acting funny"? For instance, can you cut-n-paste the commands you type and the response that you get from the router?

You can set it back to factory by doing the following:

Router> enable

Router# write erase

Router# reload

This will erase your configuration from NVRAM and reload the router back to the factory default.

Mick.
