SNMP: Can you change an Enable password using SNMP ?

Hi all

Can anyone confirm whether it is possible to change an enable password using an SNMPSET ?

I suspect that this is not possible (Security !!), however, it would save us having to take down a router to do a password recovery ... otherwise we may just try copying over an old config using SNMP instead ...

Many thanks for any clarification on this

Kind regards

Marcus

Hi all

I've found my answer elsewhere on Netpro (sorry, should have looked into this more before posting !):

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1dd6813b/0#selected_message

It seems that there is no Object for changing the Enable password, so I'll copy over an amended config instead

Cheers

Marcus
