Hello,
I would like to know if anybody has implemented SNMP v3 within their network and if you would be willing to share some Do's/Dont's of it...
Thanks,
Jim

Hi,
I heard it is more secure than the older versions.
Here are some interesting URLs for SNMPv3 and you can make a decision.

I too would like to know if there are any issues with version 3. Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
I have read that one and it sounds good and all but I was hoping for some best practices. Have you seen any out there?
What we want to do is use SNMP v3 on our external assets so we can manage/monitor them with full encryption and use either authentication internally or if the encryption is not that much of a drag on CPU then encrypt/auth internally as well.
We still have some managment tools that do not use v3 so I will need to set up some straight v1 views but I will probably limit them on what they can see and set to read only.
Cheers!
Jim
