STP#%SPANTREE-5-MSGAGEEXPIRY: Msg Age timer expired

Hi,

I get every day at the same time the follwing

message:

2004 Jun 07 06:31:59 MEST +02:00 %SPANTREE-5-MSGAGEEXPIRY: Msg Age timer expired on port 1/2,2/2 (agPort 13/1) in vlan 20

2004 Jun 07 06:31:59 MEST +02:00 %SPANTREE-5-MSGAGEEXPIRY: Msg Age timer expired on port 1/2,2/2 (agPort 13/1) in vlan 21

2004 Jun 07 06:31:59 MEST +02:00 %SPANTREE-5-MSGAGEEXPIRY: Msg Age timer expired on port 1/2,2/2 (agPort 13/1) in vlan 22

2004 Jun 07 06:31:59 MEST +02:00 %SPANTREE-5-MSGAGEEXPIRY: Msg Age timer expired on port 1/2,2/2 (agPort 13/1) in vlan 23

as this time we get timeout and the network connections are lost

the Catalyst 6000 ist running CatOs image cat6000-supk9.7-6-1.bin ( supervisor eingine 1A)

the MSCFC is running the IOS image c6msfc-pk2sv-mz.121-13.E3.

the DRAM is 64 MB

can someone help ?

You need to layout your spanning-tree topology and determine the root. From there, track down all switch connections, etc, it appears there is an issue with a switch connected of 1/2,2/2?

I would also suggest turning the logging level of spanning-tree to 6 (if not already done) to see if you get any additional log messages.
