strange local access problem

Hi,

I have an uncommon problem. Our customer wants Internet access on their existing telephone wires. Rewiring and building-up a LAN are not allowed. They would like the following:

Somebody comes to their place, plugs his/her modem of laptop in the telephone plug and access the Internet.

One bizarre solution is to use an access router with analog modem interfaces. I forget to mention they have a leased line to the local ISP. So they can make a local dial in and access the net through the leased line. I know that this solution are very expensive and “mad”, but the cost does not matter.

If somebody knows a better idea please disclose it.

Thanks in advance

Lajos

Are you saying that say, a Sales Rep or support guy from A N Other Co. comes in to work on the PBX for instance, and requires web access without having to join the domain? If so, your customer could provide a dedicated exchange line (or PBX extension with external access) to the visitor and he could use his own dial access/ISP?

Am I missing the point completely here?

That I wrote was a little confusing. Sorry.

During that time I disadvised our customers from these solution. It turned out The Long Reach Ethernet was that they thought. I'm sorry to start a superfluous topic.
