Hi
6506, 2 x Sup 720. IOS 12.2 (WAN services). What is the best way to ensure redundancy if a Sup fails? I do NOT want HSRP (dont ask!). Will RPR/RPR+ work with MSFC3/PFC3?
Any hints people...

You should really look at SSO/NSF. This has significantly better fail-over times that RPR/RPR+.
This can provide 50ms fail-over times, if the routing protocol you are using and the neighbors support NSF.

Thanks, but I use OSPF and ALL the other routers are not NSF aware. No budget to change that either.....
