Hi
Actually we have a network with Nortel Switchs and we want to change.
We have an offer over Cisco 4006 with the next configuration:
* 1 Supervisor Engine III WS-X4013
* 2 units of WS-X4148-RJ45V (48 10/100BaseT)
* 1 unit of WS-X4232-GB-RJ (32 10/100BaseT + 2 Gbic)
* 1 unit of WS-X4424-GB-RJ45 (24 10/100/1000 BaseT)
In the C4006 documentation we find this information:
"Up to 48 mpps throughput with 64 Gbps switching bandwitch"
We want know the bandwitch between each module.
Could you explain us? Is it 6 Gb inter module?

The 4006 uses interconnects to transmit data to line cards. Each Line gets 6 Gbps via 6, 1 Gbps interconnects. All traffic must be switched or routed by the superivor. With the exception of the ws-x4424-gb-rj45, there is not over-subscription and the switch can operate at line rate. For the ws-x4424, the card have 4 ports per Gigabit Interconnected.

In this situation:
"Mod1 interchange 6 Gb with Mod2 and
Mod3 interchange 6 Gb with Mod4"
are there oversubscription?
in essential, with bandwitch has the Supervisor Module?
Where is the backplane of 64 Gb?

This is not how I understood the architecture of the 4006, though it may have changed with the SupIII module. I haven't seen an update since then. But, as I understand it, this is how it works.
Every two slots (1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6) share an ASIC. Each slot has an 8 Gbps connection to that ASIC, and so traffic between slots 1 and 2 will flow at 8 Gbps, traffic between slots 3 and 4 will flow at 8 Gbps, and traffic between slots 5 and 6 will flow at 8 Gbps. But, there is only a 1or 2 (I can't remember which) Gbps connection between the ASICs. So, the switch will operate at line rate within the cards and between the paired slots, but traffic engineering will be necessary to get the best performance.

This is not entirely correct and the architecture of the Sup2 and 3 are different.
For Sup2, there are 3, 12 Gbps (24 Gbps Full-duplex) ASICs but they are not slot dependent. Each switching ASIC connects to ALL line modules but only certain ports in vertical stripes. For example, a 4006 fully populated with 4148-RJ45 line cards, ports 1-16 on each line card will connect to an ASIC, 17-32 the next ASIC and 33-48 to the third Switching ASIC. Traffic moving between ports is Switching ASIC dependent, but not solely dependent on line module.
For Sup3, their is a single 32 Gbps ASIC (64 Gbps) which means all the ports and line modules can exchange traffic at line rate.
