Terminal Server; how to send string based on a character?

I have connected a pair of scales to a 2511 terminal server. This device constantly generates a string (the weight; " x.xxx g" ). I want the router to send the TCP/IP packet only when a specific character is received (cr or "g"). How do I configure this on my async interface (line)?
