Hi,We have 2T16S Network Processor Modules in the Cisco 4700m router. And we want to config 4700m as a comm/terminal server, now we have a cable which part number is CAB-OCT-232-FC(DCE), can I use it to connect to cisco console port and how to do it?

The cable CAB-OCT-232-FC means that

the ports will act as a DCE device,

and that the cable should connect to

a DTE device. The console port acts

as a DCE (so that a dumb terminal can

connect directly to it), while the

AUX port acts as a DTE (so that a modem

or TS can connect to it). So you should

be able to connect the cables to the

RS-232 25 pin aux port of a cisco router.
