time-range on rate-limit

Dear all,

I wonder if someone out there can help me. On a 2mb frame connection I want to limit FTP and HTTP traffic to 1mb. I only want to do this within office hours.

My approach was to put a rate-limit based on a acl which is limited to a time range on the interface. The time range is set for office hours only.

I am fairly sure that the rate limit works during office hours, however I am not sure what happenes after office hours. Will it rate limit all traffic to 1mb or won't it rate limit at all (what I want)

Ofcause I can go ahead and test, but I would rather know beforehand.

Any clues?

For rate-limiting your HTTP/FTP traffic is considered interesting (will be limited) only at times you specified and any other IP traffic is considered uninteresting (won't be limited) during "office hours" as defined by the time range. Once the time range is no longer in effect, nothing is considered interesting, and shouldn't be rate-limited.
