Hello,
I'd to know if it is normal to receive a large number of traps (example: 10-40 traps, in 2-3 seconds)like "Bridge mib:topology change", one or more times a day. I have a Catalyst 4006, Operating System Software Version 6.3(6), and WS-C3548-XL Version 12.0(5)WC3b.
Thanks
Massimo

It could be if it is consuming most of the bandwidth unnecessarily.

Hi,
you should not receive any Topology Change traps in a stable topology.
The reason why you are receiving them might be some user ports (with PC connected) without PortFast enabled. Any time such a PC is powered on/off generates a Topology Change Notification STP BPDU and Topology Change SNMP trap (if configured).
See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/sft_6_1/configgd/stp_enha.pdf for PortFast details.
Regards,
Milan

I think to have a solution to my problem: it is "simply" a hardware failure on a gigabit port.
