Hi,
I have two 6509's, at seperate locations on a 622Mbps ATM WAN and they are both exhibiting the same 'errors' on the Fa0 interface of the WS-X6101-OC12-SMF ATM module.
When I session onto the WS-X6101-OC12 module and do a 'sho int' all is ok except for the FastEthernet Interface to the backplane. It shows 129/255 reliability and output errors almost matching the output packet count.
Both 6509's have the same problem. One 6509 has dual Supervisor I's with MSFC1's and the other has a dual Supervisor II's with MSFC2's.
Here is the sho int Fa0 output. Can you help confirm if this is a known problem or is it normal for this particular interface.
Many thanks,
Martin

Hi,
You might want to look at the Field notices, and maybe in the Bug Tool.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_field_notice09186a00801b0e00.shtml
Either way you look it doesn't look good. The reliability should not be normally like that but 255/255. So there is a problem.
Regards,
Corey

Hi Corey,
Thanks for the info and the confirmation that it is a fault. I have already had a look at the bug tool already and did not find anything useful.
Although not a perfect match, the Field notice does look quite interesting and may be worth trying. However this as a core network in a hospital and I cannot easily get down-time so I will have to keep looking for a more specific solution for now.
Many thanks,
Martin
