We currently have one routing switch with a VLAN Domain for each site. The sites are connected to the WAN via T1's. We are now connecting sites via GB Fiber. We would like to continue routing at each site using the existing 3550G-12's (6 sites). We are using a 3750 for the Core. Can we create a 1 VLAN domain for the entire organization and continue routing at each site. The only way I have setup VLAN's is with the routing switch being the VLAN domain server. The reason we need to do this, is we are going to implement VoIP and it was suggested all our phones be in the same VLAN. Also would it be more efficient to shut off routing on the 3550G-12s and route the entire organization with the 3750. Any suggestions on how to implement is appreciated.

You can have each switch to be in their own Vlan 1 (local) as long as they are all connecting via wan. Each Vlan 1 on each site will use a separate network address space. Also its recommended for QoS that you put phones in separate vlan from data. Though it is possible to run both data and phone in same vlan.

If the switches each have their own VLAN will I be able to have VLAN's that span sites. I thought I would have to have one VLAN database for the entire organization to Span sites with the VLAN.
