I have got a switch network connected via optical fiber. We also have a couple of Cisco Aironet 350 Bridges, other Cisco switches and other brand of switches/hubs attached to the fiber network via the main fiber switches at each building. At the moment we have 3 fiber links connected as star topology, using the default VLAN.
I want to create multiple VLAN's (a vLAN for each department) and loop up all these three fiber links using the fiber connection and wireless connectivity. And then employ a router to do inter-vlan routing and this router then connected to our backbone. There are a few un-answered question that I need to answer first before I commence with this work.
1. How do I configure the Cisco switch port where Cisco 350 bridges are connected to ? Do I configure the port to be trunked or just configure it as part of a VLAN ?
2. How will I enable the Cisco 350 Bridges for VLAN and use it a means of looping (redundant link) the current fiber links ?
3. How do I configure Cisco switch port where non Cisco switches will be connected to ?
4. Any recommendation of a good router that is good for inter-vlan routing.
Hope somebody helps

1. How do I configure the Cisco switch port where Cisco 350 bridges are connected to ? Do I configure the port to be trunked or just configure it as part of a VLAN ?
answer : If you want to send/ recieve the more than one number of vlan traffic through bridges, you should configure the port to trunk.
2. How will I enable the Cisco 350 Bridges for VLAN and use it a means of looping (redundant link) the current fiber links ?
To the best of my knowledge, there is no need to enable the vlan in Bridges, it simply send the trafiic across the bridges.
3. How do I configure Cisco switch port where non Cisco switches will be connected to ?
You shjould enable the port as trunk of 801.q.
4. Any recommendation of a good router that is good for inter-vlan routing.
Intervlan routing is supported from cisco 1700 series router as base model and also depends on the requirments.
