Hi All,
I want to configure MST
Cisco Recommandation is "to avoid to prune manually VLAN off a trunk. If some VLANs must be removed from a trunk, then all the VLANs mapped to a given instance should be removed together".
Does it mean, VTP Pruning is also not recommended with MST?
thanks for your answer

VTP pruning can be enabled with MST and as far as I know there are no dependent issues. VTP pruning gives the same advantages like suppressing the transmission of broadcasts and unknown multicasts out trunk ports as needed.

I would agree with the other posters response about interoperablitiy.
You have to understand that, sometimes, when Cisco documentation speaks of 'pruning' they mean 'manually removing' or 'disallowing' a VLAN on a particular trunk link.
Examples would be the CatOS (Hybrid) CLEAR TRUNK command or the IOS (Native) SWITCHPORT TRUNK ALLOWED VLAN REMOVE command.
This really has nothing to do with VTP Pruning which uses VTP to reduce flooded traffic on links which there are no active ports in a particualr VLAN.
