What does 'translate tcp x.25' really do ?

In other words, is the IP header stripped off and sent over the x.25 link, and if so, what protocol(s) are used on the x.25 link ? We use the command:

translate tcp ip-add x25 x25-add

An incoming IP/TCP packet (that matches

the translate command) has it's

IP/TCP header stripped off and

thrown away, and the subsequent data

packet is encapsulated into X25 with

an X25 header, such that it's now an

X25 packet. The receiving end of this

packet will not know that IP/TCP

was ever involved.
