A giant frame is any frame whose size exceeds the maximum transmission unit (MTU). In ethernet thats larger than 1500bytes (not including the18 bytes for the Ethernet header and FCS).
A runt is a frame that is smaller than the minimum frame size for IEEE-802.3 standard frames. In ethernet thats 64 bytes. Often caused by collisions.
