What is the point of the multilink bundle-name command

I have configured my 2610 router with one dialer interface for outgoing calls, and one dialer interface for incoming ISDN calls. I want to use the same username for all incoming calls. I also need ppp multilink for callers.

Problem: All calls to this dialer interface are added to the same bundle.

I try the command multilink bundle-name endpoint (or both). That does not solve the problem.

Then I get this debug output:

BR1/1:2 MLP: Request add link to bundle

BR1/1:2 MLP: Adding link to bundle

BR1/1:2 MLP: Link unable to join bundle 0000.8635.1c22, name 76656a47dd564e2d94a60eac5f1a08f800000000 doesn't match

BR1/1:2 MLP: Link for <phone no> not added to bundle

I have the ppp multilink command both on the physical interface and on the dialer interface.

When all the incoming users are using

the same name, you should use the

following (hidden) interface commands

ppp ipcp ignore-map

dialer mult-map-same-name

You should also use the endpoint as

the bundle name. If you still have

problems after this, please send the

config, as I'm not sure how you are using

multiple dialer interfaces with a single

physical interface, unless you are using

dialer profiles, in which case each

user (regardless if they are inbound or

outbound) requires their own dialer

interface. Note too that they is not

really a compelling reason to use a separate

interface for inbound and outbound users.
