i have two model called pa-8t-232 and pa-8t-v35.According to some ccies, they said that there is no differenct between the two models. If you use cable cab-oct-v35 to connect it ,then the model is called pa-8t-v35,if you use cable cab-oct-232 to connect it ,then the model is called pa-8t-232.

i am confused.Any help?

According to the tac documents,pa-8t-232 can only support 64k bps rate(cisco not recomment transfer rate greater than 64k bps),and pa-8t-v35 can support up to 2M bps transfer rate.So i think pa-8t-232 is not the same model as pa-8t-v35,and the cable cab-oct-232 is for model pa-8t-232,you can not use it for pa-8t-v35,and vice versa.Am i RIGHT?

Your second assertion is partially correct; the difference is the cabling.

The pa-8t-232 requires a Molex 200-pin, D-shell receptacle (female) (CAB-OCT-232-MT).

The pa-8t-V.35 also requires a Molex 200-pin, D-shell receptacle (female) (CAB-OCT-V.35-MT).

Another questions is :how can i identity whether a model is a pa-8t-232 model or pa-8t-v35 ,odel by using ios commands?

I already know that i can identify it from the faceplate .But i can not identity it by using ios commands such as "show diag".
