Hello all,
I have a client who has a Cisco 2500 router with IOS version 11.2(11). I need to upgrade this router to a newer IOS, but the customer bought the router used and does not know if it has a SmartNet contract. It also appears that the Serial number sticker is no longer on the router. I was wondering if anyone knows of an IOS command that will display the serial number of the router so that they may purchase SmartNet? Thank you.

Routers doesnt have an IOS command that lists the serial number of the unit.

try this command:
show diag
This will list slots and their respective serials and part numbers, but past that.. you arent going to get much..

Thanks for the responses. I already tried show diag, which works on my 2600 with 12.0, but apparently 11.2 IOS doesn't support that command. Thanks anyway though.
