Cisco LRE Testing

can anyone tell me the exact specs for LRE wiring? Is there a way to test wire runs end to end with a volt-meter? I have heard you can do this but not quite sure how to go about it. I deal with this equipment in hotel rooms where I suspect most of the issues are due to below grade terminations and wire hops in the rooms themselves, but I need a good litmus test in order to isolate this. The CPEs will stay online for awhile and then lose link. This is resolved by the hotel employees resetting the switch. The room will come back online for bit.. and then go down again. Any help would be appreciated!

The breakout box is usually used when testing or demonstrating LRE. It terminates the RJ-21 cable and "splits" the 24 pairs into 24 RJ-11 (standard U.S. telephone jack). The Graybar part number for this item is AT125-SM.
